Breed very well.
We know this pair well, and as with many discus, these require a separator after eggs are laid as they seem to start bickering. Simply putting a separator into the tank which allows the babies back and forth ? they have no trouble raising their young together.
However, we find it much smarter to take their first batch of eggs and put them with our wonderful surrogate pair (also for sale ? and both dark large Turq females) and having them raise the first batch, and this pair will lay a second batch which we then have them raise within 5-10 days.
We highly recommend whoever buys this prolific pair, also gets our surrogates as the surrogates are dark, large and healthy and do a great job. The fry typically will attach to the surrogates almost immediately upon free swimming, whereas, with this pair, it is typically not until day 3 that the free swimmers attach ? which is stressful for the parents and for us!
A high % of the babies in the pictures of growing up fry are from this pair.
